Heavy Lift is our strength

Located in the port of Duisburg, HTD has been established as an important hub for heavy lift in scheduled services via inland waterway craft and short sea shipping.

HTD trimodal interface offers you the opportunities to bring together heavy lifts up to 500 tons and individual components, to assemble on the site and transport as a complete installation via inland waterway craft and short sea shipping.

HTD

HTD is state-of-the-art, certified transshipment facility for heavy lift in the area of the Duisburg outer port. It also has more trimodal associated heavy lift terminals in Duisburg and Krefeld.

Services: Handling

Our trimodal terminal is an intelligent combination of water, railroad and highway interfaces which creates perfect conditions especially for handling heavy lifts. HTD guarantees you discretion on all levels of business operations.

Projects: Seagoing rescue cruiser

For the Technical Museum Speyer, a seagoing rescue cruiser was lifted out of the water onto a pontoon in May 2011. The ship travelled to Duisburg under its own power and was then set down and attached to a special pontoon.

Projects: Heavy lifts

Heavy lifts are delivered here by water, rail or road and handled trimodally. With state-of-the-art crane systems and optimum lifting gear, individual weights of up to 500 tons or complete project loads can be handled at HTD.

Projects: Tandem Lift 460to

At HTD goods with a weight of up to 500 tons can be handled in a tandem lift. A reference project is a 460 tons transformer. It was delivered with a gooseneck trailer by rail and then transferred to a low loader, which transported the transformer to the heavy goods quay. From there, the transformer was loaded into a barge with a tandem lift using a 250-tons indoor crane and a lattice mast crane.
